An International Backpacking Adventure & Leadership Program
Supernatural British Columbia offers some of the most spectacular hiking and camping opportunities on earth! BCC has organized three unique hiking expeditions in the wilderness for youth between the ages of 14 - 18 years and young adults 19 - 25 years. This challenging program begins with one week of preparatory ESL in the classroom. Qualified ESL teachers and Wilderness Training Instructors ensure that students first learn functional language skills, enabling them to participate fully in the program. Students will learn wilderness survival skills, attend conflict resolution and leadership training seminars and obtain a St. John's Level One First Aid Certificate. Students will then have an opportunity to use their skills as they embark on one of three, five-day hiking expeditions. Hikers will be introduced to compass navigation and map reading skills, orienteering exercises, and team-building skills. Instructors will determine whether a student may participate in Level 1,2, or 3, according to the student's fitness level and past hiking experience. Upon successful completion of the course students will also receive a BCC Leadership Training Certificate
