The course begins with BCC’s 12-week Fast Track ESL program, followed by 24 weeks of comprehensive medical terminology, medical reading & writing, listening and media literacy related to the health sciences, anatomy and physiology and international medical communication skills. The final 12 weeks are spent in preparation for the TOEFL and IELTS tests. Qualifying scores on both TOEFL and IELTS are mandatory for nonnative speakers seeking employment in the healthcare profession in Canada or further education in a Canadian college or university.
