If you have ever wondered how the Japanese, Mexican or Brazilians educate their children, how they make their food, or what family life is like for them, hosting an overseas student can answer these and many other questions. Having the opportunity to learn about people from other countries is what BC College is all about. BCC families are at the foundation of the College programs.
By opening your homes and hearts to the world’s young people, you are donating to them an uncommon gift: an offer of friendship, a willingness to share yourselves and your way of life, and a genuine interest in learning about other cultures and customs. BCC families are special people of extraordinary goodwill and generosity of spirit. You enjoy elementary, junior high or high school teens and are willing to treat your student as a member of your family. Their happiness is your concern.
Hosting a student is a unique and rewarding experience benefiting the entire family. For students, your warmth and hospitality, your ability to be flexible, along with your willingness to spend time with them so they can practice their English provides a life-changing experience. They return home with more self-confidence, knowledge of themselves and the world around them.
By opening your doors and welcoming someone from another culture, you begin an exciting chapter in your own lives.
